We have recognized a need to assist producers with their record keeping practices, and have created several simple, easy to use and low-cost programs that can solve these requirements in as little as 15 minutes per week.

Option # 1
Paper Records  -  Many of you have already received a three-ring notebook that has all the required forms for records maintenance. This process is 100 percent compliant and very simple.  It requires discipline in daily entries, and determining annual manure application rates by hand.  Many of you are currently using this system, and can continue to work, provided due diligence is involved.   Settje Agri-Services representatives can tie in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual site visits to review, examine and provide confidential feedback to your process, based on your needs.  Fees are based on an hourly rate, for on-site review time only.  We do not charge for phone calls.

Option # 2
Web-based Interactive Records  -  Three years ago, we developed a Web-based record keeping system that virtually ensured compliance. However, it was somewhat complicated and frustrating to use.  Since then, we have unveiled a new, Web-based product that will allow quick daily or weekly updates, ensure discipline with consistency of entries and calculate manure projections on demand.  This service will essentially take the paper records, convert them into a format that is 100 percent consistent with your holding pond capacities, land application sites and relevant data.  You will be able to simply log on to your personalized records, 24 hours a day, enter what is required and we will automatically review the data and provide confidential third-party oversight that it is being completed.

Option # 3
Weather Station - This option includes the Web-based system described in Option # 2, as well as data connection to your existing electronic weather station located at your facility or purchase of a new weather station sold and installed by Settje Agri-Services and Engineering.  This is a streamlined system that can automatically record on-site daily rainfall data, temperature, wind speed and direction during all manure and pond water applications, as required by state and federal regulations.  This information is downloaded directly into your Web-based records and takes the worry out of daily weather-related entries. If you are on the Web-based service, this add-on is a “no-brainer.”

Option #4
Agronomy Services  - Agronomy-related services can be a part of any of the previous four options.  The service includes on-site consultation from our certified agronomist and nutrient management planner.  We will conduct soil sampling according to NDEQ regulations or work with your existing agronomist to utilize their soil sampling results to develop manure application projections and cropping practices that ensure long-term compliance with new phosphorous-related regulations.  This package will be designed to work with your specific situation, and will either be priced per acre or per hour, whichever is appropriate.

Long-term compliance with one of these options does not have to be expensive or complicated.  We will work with your individual needs, determine what works best for you and your staff, and get you comfortable with these requirements.

Please feel free to call any one of us listed below to set up a time we can visit on the phone or on-site to further explain the details or begin the setup process for your system (at no charge).
